Carl Pelini resigns from FAU because of drugs..WHAT?

Hello weird, awkward story of the day. Reports are starting to run rampant on twitter that FAU head coach, Carl Pelini has resigned from his coaching position as well as his defensive coordinator, Pete Rekstis. Sure, the Owls are 2-6 on the season but Pelini is only in his second season as the head coach, so what could have gone wrong for a mid-season resignation?

Well, our good friend “sources” has told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy that Pelini and Rekstis¬†like to party. Party all the time. Party all the time.

Now that I got that out of my system…. Apparently Pelini and Rekstis were at a social function where weed was being used. Both agreed to resign. But not before cops showed up to FAU’s campus on Wednesday and escorted them off campus. I don’t think pot is the only reason for the resignation because having the cops actually come to campus seems like a tad much.

Pelini issued a statement which basically said the only thing he can say: “I apologize for exercising poor judgement.”

Carl is the older brother of the Nebraska head coach, Bo. Carl was on the Cornhuskers coaching staff as the defensive coordinator before taking the FAU job in 2012.

ALL ABOARD THE HOT MESS EXPRESS! CHOO CHOO! Or in Pelini’s case, PUFF PUFF.
