Quiet Time In Rangers Land

Anyone notice it has been unbearably quiet since the Nash trade broke? I guess it makes sense since that was to be our big move this summer plus it is August, the quietest month of the year for hockey.

The problem is there is NOTHING going on. Sure we could talk about the doom-and-gloom of the CBA talks (NHLPA whenever you want to make a counter-offer is fine by us) or the newest ridiculous rumor being spread by our favorite local beat writer (I’ll pass…go ahead and look it up if you’re interested), but otherwise there really is nothing going on.

So I decided to see what the boys were up to by checking their twitter accounts. As expected, Stepan and McDonagh didn’t let me down.

Friday night, Derek Stepan sent out the following two tweets:

So I guess I should’ve placed Step as a shooter when deciding what summer Olympic sports the boys would take part in. Seriously, though, who gave that boy a rifle? Apparently that isn’t what bothered Rangers fans as shortly afterwards, Step sent out this tweet:

Love that he included all animals in the tweet but is that a Penguin there? Just kidding ;-)

Not even a half hour passed before his friend Ryan McDonagh saw the tweets and responded with this:

Ouch! With friends like that, who needs enemies ;-)

Hopefully this week will bring us some more news. Otherwise I’m sure we can count on the Minnesota boys for another tweet-war or something.
