When discussing the Rangers defense-corp, there is one name that continues to come up as one fans would love to see on the ice next season – Michael Sauer. Unfortunately there hasn’t been a lot of news on his condition but that doesn’t mean we can’t discuss how great it would be for him to rejoin the team. And what better day to do that then today – his birthday!

Why? Well, for one it’s your birthday. And two, I’ve already said I love Minnesota boys so you just have to deal with it.

Moving along…Anyone remember his first NHL goal?

Of course it was a game winner. Amazing how much our team has changed in a year and a half since none of the forwards are with the team anymore. But that was a power play unit? Man our power play really has been horrible. Although Chris Neil coming out of the box isn’t really a surprise, is it?

Aww “McSauer” to the rescue. As great as McDonagh and Girardi were last season, I miss the McDonagh-Sauer pairing.
