Report: Rangers To Open In Boston

While rumors swirled all day about the Rangers opening the season at home against the New York Islanders, it appears the league had something else in mind.

According to Fluto Shinzawa, Bruins reporter for the Boston Globe, the Boston Bruins will be playing at home on Saturday January 19th…against our New York Rangers.

Honestly, Bruins-Rangers makes so much sense I don’t know what no one thought of it. Especially when it was announced Montreal would be playing Toronto, effectively taking out any other game the Bruins could’ve been given.

Personally, I like this better than the Islanders or Devils rumors. The boys would’ve lost against the Islanders (let’s be honest, they always lose early in the season to them) and I’m not ready to see the Devils yet. That said, the Bruins bring on a whole different issue so to the girls at A Cup A Bruin, I have two things to say:

  1. Yes I understand my captain shadows your captain but if your captain tries to hurt him (or take a slapshot at him), I will personally find him and take care of him myself.
  2. If any of your players even think of pushing our top defenseman who happens to be entering his third season into the boards again…just don’t even think it, okay?

Otherwise, game on!

So we’re stuck between the lockout ending and the season beginning meaning there isn’t a whole lot going on at the moment. Therefore you get to read what I like to call a stream of consciousness regarding our organization (i.e. a bunch of random thoughts/info that has nothing to do with one another).

Bear with me, I promise to make it worthwhile.
