Whale Start Year On Right Note

Congrats on your first shutout of the season against the baby Flyers! Lundqvist would be proud! (Photo: Bridget Samuels/flickr)
As the calendar turned to 2013, the Whale hoped they left their recent style of play back in 2012. At least for one game, they can say they did as they started the new year on a very good note against the Adirondack Phantoms, i.e. baby Flyers.
One lineup change to note – now that he’s no longer suspended, Dylan McIlrath was back in the lineup hoping he can play more than one game before being taken out again. Good news is I think he succeed as I see no reason he shouldn’t be playing tomorrow. He replaced Mike Vernace who was a healthy scratch. (His three minor penalties in the last game probably helped make this decision.)
