Throughout the lockout, many blogs are doing fake recaps of the games that should’ve been taking place. I’ve decided to go another route by doing real recaps…of the games that happened on that date one year ago.

I’m not going to recap this game. I can’t. There are no words I can put down here that will capture the emotions fans ran through during that game. I’m not sure how I would’ve done it if I had to in real time.

From Marc Staal making his season debut to Ilya Bryzgalov being benched or the Rupp salute to the penalty shot and hectic last minute of the game, there are just no words for this game.
