Throughout the lockout, many blogs are doing fake recaps of the games that should’ve been taking place. I’ve decided to go another route by doing real recaps…of the games that happened on that date one year ago.

I know…that title is exactly the sort of pun you would expect to see on the NHL website. Forgive me as I couldn’t think of anything else (or anything else I thought of was just as bad if not worse than that).

Unfortunately, it is the best description of the Rangers game in St. Louis on December 15th, 2011. The Rangers were outplayed from start to finish as the Blues controlled every aspect from hitting to defense to style of play. My lasting memory from this game? That would be what happened during intermission between the first and second period.
