Throughout the lockout, many blogs are doing fake recaps of the games that should’ve been taking place. I’ve decided to go another route by doing real recaps…of the games that happened on that date one year ago.

If I told you there was a game the Rangers played in which of the five goals scored one was on the power play and two were shorthanded, how would you think the Rangers did? My first instinct would be to say if special teams played a big role in the game, it probably wasn’t a good game for the Rangers.

Then again, the 2011-12 Rangers tended to do things people didn’t believe so for the franchises’ 2500th win, it should come as no surprise that the Rangers scored all three of those goals and they were all beauties in different ways.
