Texas Rangers: WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE, OSWALT?!

Is Kermit available for spot starts?

Can anyone answer this question for me?  Did Wash forget that we expanded the rosters?  We have extra arms!  We also have an off-day tomorrow!  Sigh.

Because I wasn’t excited enough to watch yet another Roy Oswalt start, Roy decided to really bring out the big guns by giving up a home run to BJ Upton on his very first pitch, showing us a new level of suck.  Thanks, Roy.

If that wasn’t bad enough, with 1 out (still in the 1st), he walked a batter, gave up a single, then a double and the Rays were up 2-0.  Then Roy started back in the 2nd right where he ended the 1st, giving up a single to start the inning followed by a 2-run home run to Jose Molina.  This is not a good trend, guys.

Thankfully, Wash came to his senses and* brought in Martin Perez in the 3rd.

Sadly, the pitching change didn’t help much as Perez, doing his best Oswalt impression, gave up a solo shot to Upton, followed by a pair of singles.  Then he gave up ANOTHER home run to Upton in the 6th (that’s 3 for Upton, kids).  Perez, buddy, you don’t have to out-suck Oswalt.  That’s not a competition we want to watch.

And since the offense didn’t show up in the last to games when our pitchers were really dealing, could we really expect them to show up during this piss poor performance?  Ha.

FINAL: Rangers 0, Rays 6

*Turns out Roy left the game due to flexor tendon soreness near his right elbow. See, even his elbow was embarrassed by that “showing”.

And for everyone saying that the team was just going through the motions since they have a 10-game homestand coming up and an off-day tomorrow… then why wouldn’t Wash just take out the veterans and play Olt, Profar, etc…? Seems like the perfect time to let the kids play, no?  Sorry, for trying to be logical…
