Rangers Recap: Connect Four!

Wow…It’s been a whirlwind of a week. The 4 game series with the Angels wore me out. BUT, we’ve won FOUR in a row and we’re sitting in a little bit more comfortable position in the pennant race than we were at the middle of the week.

The Rangers took on the Kansas Royals in KC again this evening and honestly I was shocked by how many Rangers fans were in the stands. Apparently a lot of people like the Rangers up there…who knew?

Scott Feldman took the mound again and again blew my mind. He pitched 7 and 2/3, gave up 6 hits, 2 runs, and struck out 4. I’m really not sure where this dude came from but he’s more than welcome to stay. He has a 2.10 ERA since July 1st. Pretty darn good if you ask me.

The Rangers struck first in the third inning when Josh Hamilton singled on a soft line drive to left field, scoring Kinsler and Andrus. The boys scored again in the 4th on a Mike Olt sac fly to right (which was his first Major League RBI!!!).

Mini Love Decree: I love Mike Olt. He just looks like he’s a nice guy AND the guy can play some ball. Yes, he’s going to mess up. He’s young. It’ll take some time for him to adjust but he’ll get there. He has a great mechanics and can pull through. Plus his parents were at the game tonight and when he had his first RBI they were about the cutest people I’ve ever seen. So proud of their son.

The Royals got a couple runs in the bottom of the 5th but Olt got another RBI in the 6th to give us our final score. 4-2 Rangers. The bats on the Rangers are finally starting to look consistent again even if they’re not putting up 15 runs a game. Score more runs than the other team. That’s how you win games….right John Madden?

FINAL: Rangers 4, Royals 2
