The Rangers are looking for another good – and hopefully long – outing from Alexi Ogando today, after finding out that Darren O’Day was placed on the Disabled List yesterday. He will have surgery in Nashville today to repair the torn labrum in his left hip. Ogando won his last outing against Kansas City on Saturday in which he went six innings and allowed one run on five hits while striking out five. The only run he allowed was on a home run by the last batter he faced.

“I used the changeup early in the game and kept hitters out of bounds,” said Ogando. “I didn’t have control of my pitches in the early innings, but I kept pounding the strike zone.”
