For the first time in NFL history, the season will be kicked off on a Wednesday night where the New York Giants will face their longtime rival Dallas Cowboys.
The game will take place on September 5th at 8:30pm on NBC instead of Thursday due to President Barack Obama’s speech at the Democractic National Convention.
The last time the Giants and Cowboys met was the last game of the 2011 regular season. The Giants won 31-14 to earn their ticket to the playoffs and eventually to their fourth Super Bowl title.
When the Giants last opened a season they defeated the Washington Redskins 16-7 in 2008.
