A trip down memory lane:

Good News/Bad News

Good News: The Knicks starters all scored in double digits last night and the team as a whole scored 117 points.

Bad News: The Knicks allowed the Pacers to score 119 points.

Good News: The Knicks’ shooting percentages were much higher than Sunday’s.

Bad News: So were the Pacers’ percentages.

More Bad News: Tyler Hansbrough had another career high in points against the Knicks, this time scoring 30 and he shot 12 of 17 from the field.

Even More Bad News: The Knicks have lost 3 games in a row and things are not getting any easier for them. Their upcoming schedule is pretty tough with 4 games in 5 days. The most worrisome games being against Milwaukee and Detroit. You must be asking why I feel that way when the Knicks are also playing Memphis and Boston during this stretch. The reason: The Knicks seem to play down to their opponents; losing to teams they should be beating and beating the teams that should probably give them trouble. Hopefully they can stop that trend and just win games.

Not the Kind of Welcome I Was Hoping For

Everyone's Reaction to Tonights Game

Well, that didn’t go so well. I was hoping to have my first night as a Knicks writer go a little more smoothly. Unfortunately for me, the Knicks lost to the Pacers, 106-93. Of course, when you shoot 7-26 from behind the three point arc, it’s probably not a going to be a good night. The Pacers jumped out to an 8-1 lead and the Knicks were never able to catch up.

Carmelo Anthony had 25 points but most of those points (14) were racked up in the first half. Amar’e Stoudemire had 28 points, 10 in the 4th quarter. Chauncey Billups wasn’t very effective in his return only hitting 4 for 14 from the field and finishing with 9 points. For the Pacers, Tyler Hansbrough scored a career high of 29 points and Dahntay Jones who started in place of leading scorer Danny Granger who was sidelined with the flu, added 18 points.

Up next: The back end of the home and home at Conseco Fieldhouse on Tuesday night. Maybe the Knicks can practice three point shooting and defense. Wait, what am I saying? It’s the Knicks. They don’t play defense.
