Now that All Star Weekend is behind us, we can look forward to the second half of the lockout shortened season.
Most Knicks fans are hoping that the injured players got some rest and that they stay healthy for the remainder of the season. If that happens, good things will happen for the Knicks.
Right now, the Knicks are 17-18 on the season which has them seventh in the Eastern Conference and they are four games behind the Atlantic Division leading Philadelphia Sixers. Tonight, the Knicks take on the Cleveland Cavaliers who won the first meeting between the two teams 91-81 on January 25. Since then the Knicks have compiled a 8-3 record thanks in part to Jeremy Lin’s heroics.
After the Cavs game, the Knicks’ schedule gets tough. In their next six games, they will be playing a bunch of teams with records over .500 – a combined .669 – so if the Knicks want to show their fans – and the league – that they’re for real, the next couple of weeks will be the time to do it.
Some good news for the Knicks the return of both Iman Shumpert and Josh Harrelson are scheduled to return to the lineup tonight. Again, a healthy Knicks squad will make good things happen.
Here’s a special treat for those who may have missed it. Last night, some of the Knicks attended a season subscriber forum where they hung out with season ticket holders at a restaurant on the Lower East Side. Landry Fields and Iman Shumpert showed off some musical skills. In the video below, Fields reworks the lyrics of Billionaire by Travie McCoy. Yes, he talks about winning rings. Enjoy!
