Helllllooooo, Lions fans.
Hello? Anyone? **Crickets**
Ah well. Welcome to Barry Sanders Memorial Blog, your one-stop-shop for Lions news/analysis/and occasional, if not frequent, rants about the trials and tribulations of being a Detroit Lions fan — because let’s be honest, folks, it’s not an easy job.
I’ve gotten just about every reaction you can possibly imagine to the “I’m a Detroit Lions fan” proclamation. I’ve been laughed at, ridiculed, comforted, and a few people have actually thrown water in my face just to make sure I was, in fact, not dreaming. But I’m not. Being a Lions fan is real life, and I love every minute of it. I mean, what other team can say they’ve gone undefeated (4-0) in preseason and then an unmatched 0-16 in regular season games. Only the Lions.
I’ve been a Detroit sports fan my entire life. And there’s no way I’m going to stop now. So while it’s easy to reminisce about Barry Sanders’ impossible-only-if-your-not-Barry-Sanders touchdown runs, I’ll try to imagine that Jahvid Best is the second coming. That maybe he can resurrect the Lions of old — the Lions that Barry Sanders built. And you’ll probably want to stick around to hear about it.
Your comments/criticisms are welcomed and encouraged. Now let’s get down to business.
Go Lions!
