With Andrelton Simmons out at least six weeks with a fractured finger, the Braves traded righty Todd Redmond to the Reds for shortstop Paul Janish.

Atlanta is hot, and the Braves are hot off a seven game win streak. They face the NL-West best San Francisco Giants for three games starting Tuesday.

Good Old Chipper Jones is moving up in the record books, when he tied Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt with his 1,595th career run on Friday night.

New York Mets
Left fielder Jason Bay might rejoin the team as early as Tuesday; he has been rehabbing in Triple-A after a concussion on June 15.

Right fielder Lucas Duda will have his strained hamstring checked out by a doctor on his off day Monday.

The Mets staff faced a couple of ejections this past week, too! Putching coach Dan Warthen was ejected during a meeting on the mound on Sunday’s game, and before that, Manager Terry Collins was ejected on Saturday for arguing an overturned call on a double play.

Miami Marlins
Righty Edward Mujica, who fractured his pinky toe on June 29, threw in a rehab game on Sunday for Class-A.

Also on the injury front, Juan Carlos Olivedo exited his rehab game with elbow discomfort. Miami anticipates his return to the major leagues and round out the Marlins bullpen.

And in other news, LoMo and the gang shaved their heads for support of the “Bald, Brave, Beautiful Project” at Miami Children’s Hospital.

It has been said: Roy Halladay is scheduled to start Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Chase Utley and Ryan Howard are working their way back in to the lineup after missing the first three months of the season with knee and achilles injuries. Manager Charlie Manuel has scheduled the pair to play two days with one off-day.

As the July 31 Trade Deadline approacheth, the Phillies are a team to watch. Will they buy or sell? The Orioles have made calls about Phillies third baseman Placido Polanco, and Cole Hamels is looking hot on the mound for free agency. Stay tuned.
