Let me just get this out of the way: I, like Buster Posey, graduated from Florida State University. I’ve loved him for almost as long as his high-school sweetheart (who is now his wife) has loved him.

My dad knows Buster’s manager, Bruce Bochy, from growing up in Melbourne, Florida, so we were thrilled when the Giants drafted him.

So thrilled that I made a poster for Buster when FSU was playing in the post-season just after the MLB Draft in 2008.

But despite my bias, Buster, who has almost made it through his first year as the father of twins, truly deserves to be named Designated Hotter.

Cute guy. Class act. Plus, he’s also really good at baseball. And he now has an app. He just needs to learn to play an instrument or something and he’d be a modern-day Renaissance man.
