Say it ain’t so!

Rick DiPietro is off the Injured Reserve list. The 30-year-old goaltender is apparently fit, healthy, and ready to arrive at training camp (and it only took seven months!). As mentioned earlier in the offseason, this doesn’t mean he’s going to come roaring back into the #1 spot — he’ll be likelier to back up Evgeni Nabokov — but it does mean that, granted he stays healthy for a longer period of time than has become the norm for him, the Isles will have some cushion in net.

Of course, this news has only sparked more injury jokes, some of them from Islanders fans themselves, so just grin and bear it, guys.
