The Washington Redskins lost Sunday afternoon at home to the Atlanta Falcons, 24-17, but the bigger story involves top draft pick Robert Griffin III.
RGIII was knocked out of the game (GIF here) after a hit by Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon.
Griffin’s status remains unknown at this point, but he was out for the rest of the game as Kirk Cousins, also a rookie quarterback, took over for the rest of the game.
Cousins had a 77-yard touchdown pass to Santana Moss, but was picked off twice at the end of the game. Cousins completed 5-of-9 for 111 yards. RGIII completed 10-of-15 passes for 91 yards.
The only other touchdown for Washington came in the first quarter when Ryan Kerrigan picked off Matt Ryan and took it 28 yards for the score.
Alfred Morris had another big game for Washington, carrying the ball 18 times for 115 yards.
