Adrian Peterson is coming off of a career year, having rushed for 2,097 yards and coming only 9 yards short of breaking the season record. He had 12 touchdowns, he averaged 6 yards per carry, and was the single biggest reason the Vikings made the playoffs this year.
Peterson was drafted out of Oklahoma by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft (7th pick overall). The only reason 6 other teams passed on him was because of injuries during his college career that scared off some teams. The Vikings took a chance that he could stay healthy and it has paid off in huge ways for them.
Peterson signed a 7 year, $96 million contract in September 2011, making him the highest paid running back in history. He is on course for a Hall of Fame career, and fans in Minnesota will be happy to see him do it in purple and gold.
Adrian Peterson won his first MVP of his career this past Saturday and in celebration of that he is making his first career appearance on Tight End Tuesday!
