Thursday Morning Blitz: Alex Smith, Girls And Hacked

The big news from Wednesday was the Alex Smith trade to the Kansas City Chiefs that can’t be completed until March 12. Plenty of time for the potential deal to fall apart, but as of now, it seems like Smith will play for Andy Reid in Kansas City.

But like former Chiefs GM Scott Pioli said, it’s not finalized.

“The one thing I have heard talking to some good sources is this thing has not been completely finalized yet,” Pioli said.  “I think they are still working through some of the absolute details of what the compensation is.  Because I think what happens in these trades, if you give up a pick for something or if you’re going to give up two picks, what’s been a new trend in the NFL is people generally kick picks back.  Because teams don’t like to see their, even if they are going to give up a higher pick they want to get something later in the draft so they at least have a volume of picks to have more opportunities.”

According to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, it seems like the 49ers will receive a 2013 2nd round pick and a conditional (2nd or 3rd round) pick in 2014.

Over in San Francisco though, Jim Harbuagh seems pleased with the trade, according to this .gif from SB Nation.

“Do you like girls?”

Imagine yourself being interviewed at the Combine and one of the team’s reps ask you, “Do you like girls?” You would be like “WHATTTTTTTTTT!?” Right? Like why does it matter what gender I like, as long as they aren’t imaginary.

Well, Colorado tight end Nick Kasa told ESPN Radio in Denver that he was asked that question by at least one team.

Let’s just say the league wasn’t thrilled upon learning that (see story).

“I was hacked”

Pretty sure on social media, “I was hacked,” is the too common phrase among athletes. Whenever they post something bad, it wasn’t them. Nope, no way!

Well on Tuesday, Colts cornerback Vontae Davis said he was hacked when the tweet below was posted on his account.

“I seen my dude Sean Smith last night he said he talking to KC him & B Flowers will makes a good Duo”

Funny thing is, that would be illegal according to NFL rules.

About 20 minutes after the original tweet was sent, he tweeted, “My Twitter was Hack I did not see Sean Smith last night!!” and followed up with “WOW hackers do any & Everything!”

Sureeee, blame it on the hackers.

Enjoy your Thursday everyone!
