It’s probably for the best …
The Cleveland Browns decided Saturday to respect the wishes of the Modell family and not honor the Browns former owner Art Modell, who passed away earlier this week.
According to Yahoo! Sports:
Modell owned the Browns from 1961-95 before moving the franchise to Baltimore, which created deep wounds in the Cleveland community that remain to this day. However, while no official acknowledgement is planned, don’t be surprised if some Browns fans start their own memorial to Modell, good or bad, before the game, perhaps by yelling or signs or the like.
Yeah, it’s a really good idea to respect the dead and not honor Modell in Cleveland. It could turn into an ugly, embarrassing thing for the Browns for certain. I’m sure the signs from the Cleveland fan base will be … classy … per usual!

* Carolina’s Jonathan Stewart is listed as questionable for today’s game. Stewart is nursing an ankle injury sustained in the Panther’s third pre-season game with the Jets. He has been unable to practice fully with this team since the injury. Deangelo Williams will get the start at running back for the Panthers. Mike Tolbert is expected to take some of the load. And, Cam Newton … well… you know he’ll help his team with the ground game. For more on Stewart and the Panthers, check out this link from ESPN.
* Shy Anderson.
Yup! That’s the name of Jerry Jones Eye Glass Cleaner!
OK, all joking aside, according to NFL.com, Anderson was the guy who offered to clean his father-in-law’s glasses, becoming a viral sensation in the process.
Jones said Anderson is a “vital part” of the organization and is in charge of other businesses affiliated with Jones’ empire.
“We’re having fun with it, too,” Jones said. “And one of the great things about him, he does have a big-time sense of humor. We’re having more fun about how ridiculous it is. But it’s fun. Let’s keep it going.”
Right? Ok Jerry! I believe ya… big fun! Sure! Not awkward at all!
