It was Overtime Day at the Jerry Dome Sunday as the Dallas Cowboys sent their fans home happy as the Cowboys defeated the Cleveland Browns 23-20.
With six minutes left, Dan Bailey kicked the game winning 38-yard field goal. Bailey also kicked a game tying 32-yard field goal with two seconds left in regulation.
The Cowboys trailed for much of the game, including most of the first half. Cleveland jumped out to a 13-0 lead at halftime. Dallas was unable to get on the board until about four minutes left in the third quarter thanks to a Bailey 44-yard field goal.
Felix Jones scored the first touchdown for Dallas in the fourth quarter on a two-yard run. The Cowboys were able to cut the lead down to 13-10. Dallas took the lead with less than seven minutes left on a Tony Romo touchdown pass of 28 yards to Dez Bryant.
Cleveland took the lead back late thanks to a Brandon Weeden touchdown pass to Benjamin Watson. Weeden had two touchdown passes and 210 yards.
It was a rough day for Romo as he fumbled once and was sacked seven times by the Cleveland defense. Romo still had 313 yards passing in the win. Jones was Dallas’ leading rusher as he had 43 yards on 14 carries.
The Cowboys are now 5-5 heading into the Thanksgiving game against Washington. And with another shot at Philly on Dec. 2, the Cowboys are in must win mode if they want to be part of the NFC Playoffs dance.
