Nardwuar Interviews Metta World Peace

I was sort of joking when I said that I was going to do a weekly Metta World Peace post in the offseason, but hell, if the man keeps being hilarious, I’ll keep sharing.

This interview was particularly amazing. Metta had a rough upbringing, so when people are thoughtful, he is really, truly touched.

Nardwuar is an indie personality up in Canada and regularly interviews celebrities, and he is damn good at it too. So, since Metta is moseying his way through British Columbia, Nardwuar found him.

You can tell from the gifts he give Metta, and how much research he did that the baller is truly touched. It’s a pretty cool thing to see. Check it out…

Metta World Peace IS The Most Interesting Man In The World

Whether or not you like Metta World Peace’s play on the court, off the hardwood he’s the most interesting man in the world. Remember back in the day when things were Shaqtastic and we have gems like Kazaam! to watch in the off-season? Well, those days are back. Two years ago, MWP, then Ron Artest started his music career. I know from several sources around Hollywood that he is the most accessible, hilarious man, and the good times just keep coming.

Last off-season, we got to see him on Dancing With The Stars. Thankfully, he lost before he got hurt or the season started.

This year, not only do we have his podcasts (available free on iTunes) and Twitter, but he’s just popping up everywhere! If you were in British Columbia, you got to see him do your weather. And because we can’t get enough Metta, you can see him in a Lifetime movie! Finally, something our moms and boyfriends will endure enjoy watching together! He’ll have a starring role in The Eleventh Hour, a crime story written by Nancy Grace. Metta’s co-star will be his BFF Jennie Garth.

It’s safe to say this will at least be better than Prometheus. I can’t wait!

How Can The Lakers Get Deron Williams

There is a ton of talk right now about the Lakers and Deron Williams, ever since the PG sat down with Mark Medina of the LA Times. Williams didn’t give away his hand. but let Medina know that he’d be just fine going to the Lakers.

What isn’t certain is the logistics of it. The Lakers can’t spend anymore money. They’re already over the cap. So if Williams goes to free agency, they can kiss him goodbye. However, he’s still technically a Brooklyn Net until July 1st. It would behoove the Nets to do a sign and trade because they’ll get something in return. Otherwise, Williams will walk away from his player option and they’ll get nothing.

They have to act fast though.

The other problem with this is that Williams has a one year player option, so would the Lakers sign him for one year only? He has to know he’ll get more money out on the FA market than the Lakers would be able to pay him next year, unless they’re able to trade away a lot of salary.

If they can unload Pau Gasol, that’s a huge contract they let go of. Metta World Peace is another guy getting way too much money, but he’s also the only hungry player they have besides Kobe.
