The Chicago Bulls are 1-2 after losing 2 games in a row to the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trailblazers. Not the best record on their westcoast circus trip. As expected, the Clippers completely blew the Bulls out on Saturday due to their extremely deep team with talent such as Jamal Crawford and Erick Bledsoe coming off the bench. That was an easy win for LA’s second team with only 4 players in double figures. The game ended in a 80-101 loss for Chicago.
Last night, the Bulls tried to get another winning streak going, but failed due to their careless actions with the ball. The body language of the players did not have any ounce of urgency to win. Without Derrick, the Bulls cannot afford to slack off and allow other teams to go on long scoring runs. There were times when Chicago went for long spurts without scoring and also playing soft defense. That cannot happen, obviously, because that just gives the other team even more chances to gain easy buckets.
After a strong 1st quarter, the Bulls relaxed and did not carry the same intensity into the 2nd quarter. Joakim Noah, who is playing like an All-Star, almost got a career triple-double with 16 points, 15 rebounds, and 8 assists. He has by far been the most consistent on the Bulls team. After a little rest, the Bulls will resume play on Wednesday when they take on James Harden and the Houston Rockets at 8pm ET. Chicago’s record is now 5-5 (2-2 away).
