Poland won the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division I Group B in a thrilling, come-from behind victory over Italy. Kacper Guzik scored a hat trick to win the game 3-2, sending Poland to Division I Group A in 2014.
The tournament took place on December 10-16, 2012 at Ice Palace Druzhba in Donetsk, Ukraine. Poland took four out of the five games, with their only loss coming against the home team. Coming into the last game, Poland and Italy were tied with nine points before Guzik assured victory for the Poles.
Kazakhstan moved up to second place with 11 points, while Italy stayed in third. Team Ukraine, who was promoted to Division I Group B last year, came in a disappointing fourth (tied with Italy in points, but Italy won the tiebreaker).
