Once again, the injury bug bites the Cardinals. Tomorrow both Matt Holliday and Kyle McClellan will be put on the disabled list, according to Tom Timmerman of the Post-Dispatch.
Holliday has been dealing with a sore quadricep and McClellan has inflammation in his hip.
Pitcher Lance Lynn will be called up from Memphis and start tomorrow night. Timmerman writes:
By starting Lynn on Thursday, it pushes the rest of the rotation back a day, which gives everyone, including Jaime Garcia, a bit more rest. The team could also make more moves with the staff after Lynn throws.
No decision has been made on who will replace Holliday on the roster.
David Freese, Gerald Laird and Nick Punto are already on the 15-day DL for the Cardinals. Bryan Augenstein and Adam Wainwright are on the 60-day DL.
