Edwin Jackson Should Not Pitch to Casey McGehee

Today’s 10-5 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers was just another one of those games where Cards fans are left shaking their heads. The team had a great win on Tuesday night, winning 8-7 in 11 innings.

Casey McGehee hits one of his three homers Wednesday as Yadi calmy looks on. You can tell, he's spitting mad though.

Today’s game was like the Cardinals were playing in the haze of that game. There was so much drama and turmoil that it even spilled into this mornings discussions with the media.

There was some good that came out of this game.

Number one. You can honestly see that this team isn’t giving up. They may play poorly at times, but they do not give up. And that lends promise.

Another good? Rafael Furcal did have a three-run homer off Randy Wolf in the second inning with Corey Patterson and Edwin Jackson on base. Yup that is right, all three players acquired at the trade deadline were involved in that play!

On to less pleasant things…
Edwin Jackson pitched seven innings and gave up four home runs, three of which were to Casey McGehee, was 3 for 4 with 5 RBI.

First off, let me state the obvious. Edwin doesn’t need to pitch to Casey McGehee. Ever. In fact, maybe the whole Cardinal pitching staff should avoid pitching to Casey McGehee. He kills the Cardinals EVERY TIME! I don’t think he does this well against other teams… otherwise, would we even know who he is? That’s right! I am telling you this guy isn’t good unless he is playing the St. Louis Cardinals.

Questions of the Day Time!
In the next month we play the Brewers a few more times. What suggestions have you for when Casey McGehee comes to the plate? Any thoughts you care to share about today’s game or last night’s epic game? Share below or on twitter! We would love to hear from you!

Also, several of our twitter friends noted that our own Chris Coleman was wished a Happy Birthday on the Fox Sports Midwest broadcast. I unfortunately have a tendency to block Al, Ricky and Dan out, so I did not hear it. If you have the clip, feel free to post it below or send the link to us on twitter!
