The Cardinals came from behind to win against the Atlanta Braves 5-3. Unfortunately, Chris Carpenter was still unable to get his first win of the season and was given a no decision. He allowed 3 runs, gave up 2 home runs, 2 walks and accumulated 3 Ks for the night.
Yadier Molina’s sac fly scored the Cardinals’ first run and Decalso got a single to tie the game at 2-2 in the 4th inning. The Braves went ahead again in the 7th inning off of a Nick McLouth home run, but Descalso’s sac fly in the 9th inning tied the game again at 3-3. Nick Punto became the hero in the 11th inning with a two-run triple.
The good:
- Yadier Molina went 2 for 3 with an RBI.
- Daniel Descalso drove in 2 runs.
- Eduardo Sanchez pitched two scoreless innings and received his first win of the season.
- Trever Miller got his first save of the season.
- The Cardinals have won 3 straight games and have won 7 of the last 9 games.
The Bad:
- Chris Carpenter gave up 2 HRs and allowed 3 runs.
The Ugly:
- Chris Carpenter still doesn’t have a win for the season!

Poor CC!
But it was great to see Trever Miller come in and FINALLY get an out. That was much needed — maybe even more needed than a win for CC (since he didn’t really deserve one last night, but at least didn’t get the loss).
