A week ago, who would have thought it possible … seriously … that the Cardinals would sweep the Milwaukee Brewers?
This is why you play this crazy game!
Stuff happens and miracles are pulled out!
And the Cardinals swept the Brewers Thursday with an 8-4 victory. See, miracles DO happen!

Albert Pujols. Boom.
The game started out just as it did the day before, a lead-off homer from Rafael Furcal and a blast from Albert Pujols came two batters later. In the third inning, Albert hits a grand slam home run, the 12th of his career and his 34th homer of the season, to bolt out to a 6-0 lead.
Jonathan Lucroy and Corey Hart hit homers in the bottom of the third for the Brew Crew, to bring the score to 6-3.
In the fifth inning, Matt Holliday hit his 20th homer of the season, which also happened to be his 200th career blast.
In the eighth inning, Prince Fielder tried to make things interesting by hitting a homer to make it 8-4, which was the final score.
It was one of those games a fan could get concerned over with Brandon Dickson, who was just brought back up to the big club from Triple-A Memphis as the rosters expanded, getting the start. There obviously should have been no worries as the Cardinals played good baseball and hit some homers!
Good pitching? Good baseball? Big home runs? That sounds like a recipe for success? Not really! But, I am really enjoying the way this team is playing and they can keep this up through the World Series if they would like!
