Cardinals Throwback Thursday: Check Out This Game From 1959

We’re all hungry for a little baseball right now — so how about a look into the Cardinals past?

This is a special treat, a one-hour condensed game from 1959 between the Cardinals and the Dodgers, played at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Research has found this is from a nationally syndicated broadcast produced by Major League Baseball, narrated by Jack Brickhouse. You’ll get to watch Stan Musial in action, as well as our favorite should-be-Hall-of-Famer Ken Boyer.

So take some time to watch and enjoy!

Thanks for sharing this video. It is incredible. To be able to see Bill White and Larry Jackson in their prime, Curt Flood, Maury Wills and Ron Fairly at the beginning of their careers is just amazing. Duke Snyder, Stan Musial, Joe Cunningham, Don Zimmer (briefly), Lindy McDaniel, Wally Moon, Ken Boyer, Jim (Junior) Gilliam, John Roseboro – there is so much history in this game, I can barely believe it.

And Roger Craig pitching a typical Roger Craig game.

    Just amazing.
