Batista Released

After a dismal performance Tuesday night in which he gave up three runs and barely found the plate, Miguel Batista was given an unconditional release by the Cardinals.

Bye Miguel

It’s almost unbelievable, isn’t it!

Lance Lynn is coming back to St. Louis from Memphis and is expected to be in the bullpen tonight.

Here is the Post-Dispatch’s initial report on the release.

Here is Matthew Leach’s story for Cardinals.com.

There should be a lot more information as we get closer to game time. Later, AMF will also have the final poem for The Poet as a Cardinal. But first, Fake Miguel Batista had some parting words … I will share now!

@FakeMBatista: The sting of regret is bitter on my breast; my time ere short, though I did my best. Farewell to those who wish me well, the rest..#stlcards

I do hope the fake Batista account doesn’t fade into the good night …

Here’s tonight’s line up!

Ryan Theriot, SS
Jon Jay, CF
Matt Holliday, LF
Lance Berkman, 1B
Yadier Molina, C
Andrew Brown, RF
Daniel Descalso, 3B
Kyle Lohse, P
Pete Kozma, 2B.

Hopefully tonight’s game is much better! Enjoy! Go Cards!

Yes, it’s almost unbelievable. The Cardinals management did something right rather than flush the season on their misguided loyalty to a Proven Veteran.

I remember what it took for them to cashier Todd Wellemeyer.

So, what will be the Chris Duncan equivalent? Ridding the roster of Ryan Franklin?

Franklin has some dirt on somebody! He has too! Other than Miguel’s poor performance Monday, there is no justification for not getting rid of Franklin first.
He has pictures or video of someone!
