Postgame: Gaborik continues dominance over Islanders
For Marian Gaborik, the Rangers probably don’t play the Islanders enough for his liking. In the Rangers’ 6-3 win Tuesday night at the Garden, Gaborik scored two goals, totaling his points in 20 career games against the Islanders to 25. It didn’t come all that easy though.
While the Rangers did win — convincingly — to finish the season sweep, it didn’t come without a moment of uneasiness as the Islanders tied the game at 2 after being down 2-0 following the first period. But the power play propelled the Rangers to the win, with a large part of that success coming defenseman Bryan McCabe.
The Rangers have now won four of five games, moving to 7th place.
