ABATT = “All Baseball All the Time” = A reference to another Cubs blog, Bleed Cubbie Blue, where other posters often got angry with some of us for not sticking exclusively to baseball topics
ACB = the excellent blog “Another Cubs Blog,” which is headed up by LOHO pal Maddog
BFF = “Best Friends Forever” — Think back to 7th grade
Buttercup = Former Cubs pitcher Mark Prior — this is a reference to both his delicate nature and the song “Build Me Up, Buttercup,” which perfectly summed up the relationship between Prior and Cubs fans — Contributing Editor thisyearcub gets credit for coining this phrase
Butters = former Cubs center fielder Jim Edmonds
Cedenoes = To be objectionable or inadequate – e.g., “That centerfielder Cedenoes — he can’t catch a thing.” (see “E6,” below)
Darlin’ Starlin = Cubs middle-infielder Starlin Castro.
Dumpster = Ryan Dempster, when his pitching is less-than-stellar
E6 = former Cubs shortstop Ronny Cedeno — cubbiejulie came up with this one, based upon the most common scorecard entry used in relation to Cedeno’s fielding (or lack thereof)
El Partido = Short for “El Partido de Los Cachorros”, a game created on the Florida Marlins blog Fish Stripes and played here on LOHO Game Threads. Before each game, each player answers three questions in an attempt to earn points: (1) the game’s attendance (as cited by yahoo.com’s post game report); (2) the game’s player of the game (chosen by the author of the post-game report); (3) an off-the-wall prediction or quirky statistic for the game (e.g., a certain player will make 3 errors or get picked off twice, Cubs go ahead in the 9th, etc.)
Groggles = Former (thank God!) Cubs reliever Kevin Gregg. Goggles, Groggles . . . it’s all good.
He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named = former Cubs starting pitcher Jason Marquis (sometimes abbreviated as “HWSNBN”).
Hufflepuff = Cubs OF Micah Hoffpauir. We have no idea where this one came from.
IIRC = “If I Recall Correctly”
IMHO = “In My Humble Opinion”
Jenga! (aka “Board Game,” “MB,” “Uncle Milty”) = Former Cubs OF Milton Bradley. Jenga is both made by the company Milton Bradley and resembles Bradley himself in that you never know when the whole thing is going to fall apart.
LMAO = “Laughing My Ass Off” — can be changed to “LMFAO”, which adds a dirty word for added effect
LOHO = A “League of Her Own” (You probably should have figured that one out)
LOL = “Laugh Out Loud”
McDreamy = former Cubs infielder-outfielder Mark DeRosa, who cubbiejulie finds to be “dreamy”; also spelled MacDreamy, Mc.Dreamy, as well as hundreds of other variations, to subvert Contributing Editor gravedigger’s “McDreamy Filter”
Mortimer = the fuzzy object that sometimes resides on Reed Johnson’s face.
OGDJM = “Oh, Goddammit, Jason Marquis”. A phrase uttered by Contributing Editor gravedigger when he found out the Cubs signed pitcher Jason Marquis.
Pigpen =  the Cubs bullpen.
Rasputin = Cubs pitching coach Larry Rothschild. Because we can never seem to get rid of him.
REEDZ = Former Cub OF Reed Johnson
Rich Harden’s Ass = the females at LOHO love this bit of anatomy better than any other that’s ever been the team and believe it to be the source of Rich’s power.
SO = “Signficant Other”
Spellcheck = Jeff Samaddinaingzajiaa . . you know the one I mean.
The Big Smooth = Cubs relief pitcher Sean Marshall, because of that big, filthy curve
The Riot =Former Cubs infielder Ryan Theriot — no explanation necessary (one would hope)
Toe Thumbs = (a Seinfeld reference) cubbiejulie’s nickname for Cubs catcher Koyie Hill, which flyball hates.
TOOTBLAN = “Thrown Out On The Basepaths Like a Nincompoop.” This one was coined by the hilarious Cubs blogger Wrigleyville23, as a description of what (unfortunately) often happens to Ryan Theriot.
Tylermania! = the only acceptable way to refer to rookie sensation Tyler Colvin. NB: the exclamation mark must be included at all times.
WAG = Weak-ass grounder. A nod to the guys at Another Cubs Blog for pointing out that this was what Matt Murton frequently hit.
Z/Big Z/The Beast = Cubs starting pitcher Carlos Zambrano, for obvious reasons
