Happy Thanksgiving, Cubs Fans

I’m not sure anyone needs a break this off-season as much as Carl and I do. And, as there’s no real Cubs news today (at least as of 10:43 am CT), we’re going to take the opportunity to say “Happy Thanksgiving” and that we hope you have a great holiday.

Of course, if any Cubs news breaks, we’ll jump back in. Aside from that, we’re in full-on Turkey mode until Friday. But, before we go, we would be remiss if we didn’t say we’re grateful for all of you, who made this past Cubs season nearly bearable. Mwah.

Happy Thanksgiving!

My daughter has been really into the Peanuts cartoons lately…she watches Great Pumpkin one a lot and there is a Thanksgiving one too.

I found it really disturbing that Woodstock was so happy when he was eating turkey in the thanksgiving one.

Now that Carl and Julie have taken off, all heck will break lose. The Cubs probably will:

    1. Announce the new announcer to join Len Kasper-former Survivor star Jeff Kent.

    2. Announce a block-buster trade between the Cubs, the Mariners, the Red Sox, and the Rays. Each team will trade to another all the old left over videos rented from Blockbuster Video not returned.
    3. A naming rights deal with C & S Whilesale Grocers, which will rename Wrigley Field to Piggly Wiggly Wrigley Field.

I’m still not sure what the heck the Blue Jays were thinking when they re-hired John Gibbons.

This team loves recycling it’s old managers I guess. It’s pretty disappointing considering all the moves they’ve made so far this season, but at least they refrained from hiring Jim Riggleman.

I have to wonder if LaHair is going to end up in Japan. That’s where he intended to go last year before Jed convinced him that he was going to be their first baseman in 2012.

Last night, one Curt Sandoval of the L.A. ABC affiliate made a total fool of himself by shrillingly stating that ND was number one because they did not play in the Pac 12-he finished by yelling that Oregon would have “smoked” ND…

    • Doc Blume says:

ND’s strength of schedule has been one of the reasons it moved up so quickly in the BCS rankings.

I think Oregon would and ND would have made a very competitive game. Not saying ND would have won, but it would have been very close. (I think the Irish would have destroyed K-State…that was a team that ridiculously overrated.)

Alabama…honestly, they play at a different level than the rest of college football.
