Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that Oswalt turned down a one-year, $10MM offer from the Tigers, and that being close to his Mississippi home is a major factor in his decision.
Yes, he’s coming off a bad season. Yes, he’s in the waning years of his career.
But come on. We all know that, if Oswalt comes back to the NL Central, he’ll win the Cy Young in 2012.
If Oswalt does sign with Saint Louis, I’ll have to revise my 2012 win total forecast from 74 wins to 71 wins.
why does it matter? the cubs are going to be so awful in 2012 that it doesn’t really matter how good the cardinals or anyone else are.
