The Cubs continue the series in Houston tonight, looking to win four-in-a-row for the second time this season.
Ryan Dempster (10-8, 4.70)takes the hill for the Cubs, Brett Myers (3-12, 4.71) for the Astros.
Yes, this is quite possibly the worst game thread you’ve ever received. However, given the Cubs’ season, you’re all lucky I’m still even paying attention.
Tonight’s lineup:
- Castro SS
- Barney 2B
- Ramirez 3B
- Peña 1B
- Byrd CF
- Soriano LF
- Colvin RF
- Hill C
- Dempster P
With Koyie Hill in the lineup, the Cubs are a shoo-in.

Trust me, I’ve done worse game threads.
I’m taking everyone’s silence as agreement with my assessment of this game thread.
I think its more nervousness of messing up the game
I turn it on and i’m pretty sure Bob and Len are making fun of Quade’s nicknaming skills

RAMIREZ!!!!
WHAT HAPPENED?
Homerun that cleared the wall, the track, may have broken a window
Too bad his very presence is ruining our team.
Ramirez?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
MAYBE OR MAYBE NOT CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT IS HAPPENING
MARMOL GAVE UP A SALAMI TO LOSE THE GAME.
ugh. what.
hey, i thought you retired
you know who i miss?
carl.
what ever happened to him? (other than his daily posts and whatever other contributions he’s been making around here lately)
Sigh…. I cursed loudly in public tonight. This wouldn’t have happened if Zambrano was still around.
I watched the nineth, and told my sister,”watch, he’ll give up the lead.” Unfortunately, I was right, but maybe now we can stop hearing how the Cubs are fine the way they are……
This team makes me feel like I should be in a padded room with a straightjacket on, rocking back and forth in a corner whimpering “but everything is fine, but everything is fine”.
The straightjacket of course, will have the Cubs logo on it. Only proper to display the reason for insanity.
