So the boys are at it again tonight with a team that refuses to not give pity to our baby boys. I for one care not to see another 6 home run ball game. But like all of you good soldiers I will sit around and watch us get destroyed by a team with a solid game plan and a farm system in place.
I know that Theo/Jed are taking notes on what the Nationals have been doing and how they have become dominant in the NL.
Yet our kids in blue will continue to try to not not break records by having a 100 loss season.
Coming off its second straight six-homer game, NL East-leading Washington looks to continue to pound Chicago’s pitching and sweep its first four-game series from the Cubs in 15 years tonight.
“This is by far the best team we’ve played all year,” Cubs manager Dale Sveum said. “It’s like an American League lineup, too. Guys that hit the ball a long way.”Next up against Washington’s potent lineup is Justin Germano (2-5, 6.30 ERA), who has done a decent job of keeping the ball in the park but has still been getting knocked around plenty in losing his last three starts.
So with that being said and our miserable season slowly coming to a close I leave you with tonight’s lineup:
D. DeJesus, RF
L. Valbuena, 3B
A. Rizzo, 1B
A. Soriano, LF
S. Castro, SS
S. Clevenger, C
B. Jackson, CF
D. Barney, 2B
J. Germano, P
Game time:
6:05 PM CST, September 6, 2012
Nationals Park, Washington, D.C.
And once again GO CUBS GO!!!!

You beat me… I was going to do a thread. I think yours turned out better.
Mark you are kind and I thank you. Now lets try to kick your Nationals ass!
I’m a lifelong cubs fan. But I’ve become just as much a Nats fan living next to the stadium for three years. And given the fortunes of the two this season… I want to see the Nats win it all.
3 triples in 2 innings. I think this is shaping up to be a weird game.
This Germano character… Not too bad lookin…
he’s really nice too. you should follow him on Twitter, he responds to fans a lot!
You guys really have no idea how loud that horn is in my house
This gave me the biggest belly laugh this morning
I’ve discovered that a way to make watching these games more tolerable….
annual eye exam with pupil dilation drops =
a big hazy, fuzzy picture
Smoke pot.
What’s the “on field delay”?
I missed both fights!!! AAAAHHHHHH!!!
I’ve been waiting all year!
Still waiting on the footage of you putting a “beat down” on Volsted.
I have a headache. Maybe later.
That’s what they all say…
They weren’t much of a fight in either case. Surprised this didn’t happen sooner. The cubs have to feel reallllly embarrassed right now.
Yabbut . . . it was SOMETHING.
I said this was going to be a weird game….
I missed a fight? Boooooo……
What was Dale doing while Jamie Quirk was fighting?
Post game press conference with Davey Johnson was interesting. When asked if he understood the Cubs frustration, he said no — we don’t play that way. We play to win until the game is over. And called the cubs whiners.
I wish they whined more. They’ve seen disinterested all season. At least whiners are invested in something.
Is true
So Castillo did not even hit Harper? Then why were the Nationals mad? He was showing up the Cubs. The more I see Harper the less I like him..
That whole thing was weird. I’m really interested to read what the hell Quirk was shouting about. It’s seems unreasonable for a team to pull back the reigns in the 5th inning of a 5 run game. Then the Nats got mad because of the attempted HBP.
Also, it’s not hard to show up the Cubs. You pretty much just have to show up.
That’s my point- The Nats knew they were going to beat the Cubs, and beat them badly. Then Harper gets an inside pitch, and they act surprised? The Nationals are not doing Harper any favors by catering to him, and jumping to his defense when he does stupid things like throwing hit helmet when he makes an out. During another game, the announcers kept saying that throwing a tantrum when he gets called out proves Harper ‘Plays the game to win…He cares so much…I hope the umpire realizes that’s just how Harper plays the game.” Enough already-he’s good. Now don’t get all shirty when he gets an inside pitch,AND DOES NOT LEAN IN AND GET HIT…
