It’s a day/night doubleheader!!
If you’re not doing anything more interesting today, like going to the Air & Water Show, checking out the first weekend of English Premier League Soccer, enjoying the amazing weather, or clipping your toenails, you might be interested in watching a whole mess of Cubs baseball today.
Or not.
Jeff Samardzija will pitch the first game, which starts at 12:10 pm CT on CSN. That one will probably turn out okay.
But our old friend Brooks Raley/Boo Radley was called up to start the second game, which kicks off at 6:10 pm CT, also on CSN. If you can only watch one of the two games, I’d stick with the first one. I can’t guarantee that the second one won’t cause you to completely break down, curl into the fetal position, and remain there until morning.
At least we get to see Josh Vitters play!
Lineup (Game 1):
DeJesus RF
Vitters 3B
Rizzo 1B
Soriano LF
Castro SS
Castillo C
Jackson CF
Barney 2B
Samardzija P

Oh darn, no CSN for me, this is terrible
Same here-trying to run errands in the heat before I die
.
i’m watching, but i’m not thrilled about it.
I appreciate you watching 6 hours of Cubs baseball in case something interesting happens so you inform the masses (or those of us here today)
You’re a good friend
How is it that when I say something meant to be nice it reads as sarcastic
My maid of honor speech is going to be a disaster
Go team!
The only thing left for the Cubs this season is whether or not Sori gets traded. At least Theo & Co get to find out with 100% accuracy that the minor league pitchers suck.
Also, will Sveum actually start playing Vitters?
I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than listen to these asshat Reds Broadcasters. How fucking horrible would it be to listen to these idiots everyday?
Think of their poor families….
So . . . . THIS was the good game??? I can hardly wait for the nightcap.
Speaking of nightcaps, where’s my bottle of bourbon . . . . .
They just said on the Fox game, that Dempster missed his start due to “passport issues.”. Earlier they had said personal problems- what did he do, lose his passport in a bar?
“Hey! I thought you were a Cub fan?”
What I heard over and over wearing a Reds jersey after we lost the series a week ago.
And since we lost the 1st game today looks like I’ll be wearing the jersey again.
I pointed out to the manager of the brewery that we made the bet before we gutted our team of 5 more veterans. To which he responded,”Put the jersey on and get ready to wear it again next week”.
C’MON CUBBIES! LITTLE HELP?!

what is it with these HR’s? Brother!
Boston’s catcher looks like a caveman. Could his forehead stick out any farther?
I meant Cincy’s catcher, of course. I don’t know where Boston came from.
You were dreaming about Theo.
wrong.
Cherington?
Is Boo Radley pitching that well? The cubs are ahead?
The kids are all playing well. If only they could do it with some consistency.
And now there blowing it.
Cubs win. The lucky little bastards.
It might be helpful if we had…oh say a BULLPEN????
