Today marks exactly 365 days since Ariana and myself got the ball rolling with this site and began covering the Bruins 24/7 for all of our readers. It’s been an interesting year to say the least, especially with the lockout, but we were able to make it all work. Our first trial post and stepping stone to becoming the lead writers of this site was the game recap against the Ottawa Senators and the Tim Thomas White House snub was around there as well. From there we created the name of our site which took all of twenty-four hours and established what we wanted as our site banner.
Throughout the past year we’ve learned some things about blogging, the Bruins and each other. We’ve found that we both share the same passion for our team which makes it really easy for us to bring top of the notch coverage and have a blast while doing so. We’re both writing about what we love and write with a passion that is undeniable. That’s what makes us stand out from other blogs around the internet universe, we write our recaps and previews based on not only general hockey knowledge and facts, but passion and opinions as well, making each post original and unique.
In the past couple of months we’ve been able to bring back one of our contributors, Stephanie Vail who originally started out providing the game previews for Boston, but then left us for a brief time. She has now re-joined us and provides top of the line coverage of the Providence Bruins, a team that doesn’t get as much love as they should. She writes with just as much passion about the baby B’s as Ariana and I do about Boston and she’ll be the first to debate with you regarding any facts about wither team. She’s been a great addition to our staff and we can’t thank her enough for what she has done for us so far.
We’ve had a lot of really cool posts within the last year, ranging from Seguin’s dating games all the way down to the announcement of the lockout and covering where players were overseas. We were also able to have a little bit of fun along the way as we teamed up and headed to Lowell for Milan Lucic’s Rock and Jock Softball Game, something we plan on making a tradition out of (hopefully.)
What’s Coming Up: Reader Interaction and PRIZES!
In the upcoming year we are looking to get more feedback from our readers and gain some more interaction. We are incorporating Jack Edwards BINGO for every game that is televised on NESN with a chance to win a prize. In addition to Bingo we have our polls that we run here as well that provide us with your opinions on who you think the top scorer will be this season or who deserves to win the Division title this season. The polls get brought into our Twitter and Facebook handles as well, so if you want to share your opinion, give us a follow or a like, there’s always something going on.
We are also looking into finding a better mobile application that will allow push notifications and work on all of the platforms (Droid, Blackberry, iPhone).
All in all the past year has been great and it’s provided us with a great opportunity to get our names out there and provide the stepping stones we need to create the career of our lifetime. We couldn’t do it without all of our loyal minion readers and for that, we love you and here’s to another year of brilliant coverage and hell, let’s be bold and say another Stanley Cup for the Bruins as well! 2013 is OUR YEAR!
