Can you believe we’re already up to prospect 22? That means there are only nine more prospects to write about after this one. That being said, let’s meet Tyler Henson here!
Henson spent his first three years in the organization at shortstop and third base, but last year in Bowie he switched to left field and held his own out there. He’s gotten bigger since being drafted out of high school, of course, so he’s gained some more strength. Baseball America states that he rarely is beaten by pitches in the strike zone and he hits to all fields, but he’s susceptible to breaking balls outside the zone and is still going to have to reduce those numbers if he wants to move up. With his well-chosen outfield routes, he’ll make a good corner outfielder, but he’ll need to add more power to fit the typical profile. Right now, he’s more suited for a bench role. He has a chance to reach Norfolk this year, so we’re keeping our eyes on this one!
